Columbia Aged Care’s Acacia Centre in Marrickville is proud to have been a finalist in the recent Marrickville Council Environment Awards.
A ceremony on 24 November 2010 recognised Acacia Centre as a finalist for the Water Saver Award. The awards identify businesses that demonstrate leadership in environmental programs that help reduce, reuse and recycle resources.
The awards, part of the Target Sustainability @ Marrickville program, focus on the achievement of sustainability targets. Columbia Aged Care established water saving initiatives at the Acacia Centre to reduce usage of potable water, more commonly known as drinking water.
Columbia Aged Care is actively involved in the Sustainability Advantage Program operated by the New South Wales Department of Environment, Climate Change and Water. By reducing usage of potable water, the Acacia Centre has helped to ensure a reliable water supply for future generations.
